Our History

FirstAssist Insurance Services has over two decades of experience as one of the leading providers of specialist white–label insurance solutions.

In 2003, FirstAssist became an independent company following a management buyout and in 2011 was acquired by Cigna, one of the world's largest investor–owned global health service and related benefits organisations. Over this period we have
re–engineered our business to focus on our core strength as a specialist insurance provider. This included the sale of the private medical insurance business and the
de–merging of the assistance, counselling and wellbeing part of the business.

By focusing only on our core areas of expertise – travel insurance, protection, budget health, legal protection and small business – we are better able to meet our clients' specialist insurance needs.

The acquisition by Cigna is testament to our success in supporting our clients and their customers and enhances our ability to serve them with a broader product set.

Our strategy has delivered significant growth in recent years and we continue to reinforce our position as a key player in our chosen markets. Today, we work with a number of leading banks, insurers and other financial services institutions, retailers, affinity organisations, motoring associations, intermediaries and other major brands.

But we do not rest on our laurels – we will continue to work hard to change the face of white–label insurance for the benefits of our clients and their customers.
